little HOUSE ON LIME

Hello everyone, Emma here! I’m next up for our latest blog post and I thought I’d show you my own little home.

It’s not quite the exciting renovation that my Mum is currently going through - you can see the start of this in our first blog post ‘Farmcote, the Intro’ but seen as we sell lots of lovely items for your home, I thought I’d show you a bit of mine.

Myself and my Fiancé Liam, moved into our little Victorian semi back in May 2019, it’s in a small village called Tettenhall and it’s our first home together. One of the most recent full pictures I have is in the snow just after Xmas, hence the fairy lights in the window - ha!

Most of the changes we’ve made have been really small and I’m awful at taking before pictures so there’s only really a few spaces where you’ll see what our home looked like before.

Here is our lovely little living room where we probably spend the majority of our time because it feels so cosy. Not many changes have happened here, we gave the room a fresh lick of paint and did above the dado rail a different colour because previously it was all the same. The shelf and coffee table were handmade by my lovely fiancé (yes, I’m very lucky). He sells console tables, shelves, and optic drinks dispensers on his Etsy shop ‘Make it Rustic’, check the shop out on Instagram @shopmakeitrustic. He’s a locksmith by trade but does this too when he’s got a bit of spare time.

The main bedroom is where we had new carpets, did some panelling, and gave the whole room a refresh with new paint colours…

Here is our spare bedroom, not too much of a change has been made to this other than the carpet and shutters – Liam managed to cut down some of my parent’s old shutters to fit this window and it made a massive difference to the room when we put them up…

One of the bigger changes we’ve made to our home has been the stairs, where we’ve had a runner, here is a before, during and after picture...

Next up, the Kitchen/dining area…

And here’s a before and after of our Victorian tiles. I love this! It made such a difference to the outside of our home – we always get compliments from neighbours too…

And one of our favourite transformations, the bathroom. Here's a before and after picture…

The garage and driveway area has had a huge transformation, as you’ll be able to see here…

And finally, probably the biggest change of all is the garden. A lot of it got completely ripped out, with new plants added, a path made and decking installed, it’s a real sun trap too so we really like to make the most of it, especially when we can have nights in our little fire pit area. Here are three before pictures and three after ones...

We don’t think we’ll make too many other big changes to our home as it was always meant to be our first little ‘starter home’ together. Plus, we’re getting married next year, which is understandably taking up any money we would’ve spent on the house. Our plan was to have a skylight in the kitchen but this might need to be something we sacrifice. Liam plans on having a go at making some new worktops for the kitchen as he loves a project, and I’m sure we’ll go for some different, I’m thinking bolder, colours here and there around the house! I don’t post on it as much as I should as most of my Instagram attention goes towards Our Own Home, but feel free to give my home Instagram account a follow @littlehouseonlime.

Thank you for having a read everyone X
